On September 27, 2025, our team travelled to Ala Elefoson in Ondo State for a community outreach focused on something we care deeply about — making sure teenagers and children have access to health information and care that is often entirely out of reach in rural communities.
The event was held in partnership with Cardinal Healthcare Foundation, who joined us on the ground to provide medical expertise and supplies. Together, the day brought four things to the community: health education sessions, free hygiene kits, HPV vaccination, and HIV testing and counselling. We also made room for games and fun — because outreach days work best when they do not feel clinical.
Why this matters
Health information does not reach rural communities the way it reaches cities. Many of the teenagers we met had not had access to basic health education, let alone vaccination or testing services, before this event arrived in their community. That gap is exactly what this outreach exists to close.
Our team and volunteers spent the day moving between sessions — speaking to groups, answering questions, and working alongside the Cardinal Healthcare Foundation team as they administered vaccinations and ran testing stations.
What was distributed
Every attendee left with a hygiene kit — practical, immediate support that makes a real difference in daily life. The health education sessions covered topics that are rarely discussed openly in these communities, giving teenagers language and information they can act on.
What is next
Outreach like this only works because of people who choose to support it — whether that means funding hygiene kits, covering transport costs for our team, or partnering with us the way Cardinal Healthcare Foundation did for this event. If you would like to help us reach the next community, here is how.
